We are delighted that until the end of June 2011 the church is hosting a visit by the Royal College of Organists' Wingfield Organ. This instrument is a reconstruction by organ builders Goetze and Gwynn of a small Tudor organ. Its format has been based upon evidence obtained after the remarkable discovery in 1995 of an original sixteenth century organ soundboard at Wingfield church in Suffolk, discarded in the coffin-house in the churchyard. Whilst it is with us, this beautiful organ is being used for teaching and organ practice sessions and will also feature as part of our Friday organ recitals in the early part of the season.
